This book is about a girl named Delrita who is embarrassed of her family so she does not have friends or let classmates
come to her home. Deltrita is mostly afriad that people would laugh at her thirty-five year old uncle who lives with
them. Her uncle Punky has down syndrome and she feels that she needs to protect him from people everyday. She
does not want people to laugh or tease her uncle. One day something terrible happens that forces Delrita and Punky
to move in with Delrita's other aunt and Uncle. She never felt so far from everything that she has ever known.
Eventually Deltrita and Punky begin to make some new friends for the first time and along the way she learns that
everyone has secrets.
