Today is the first day that we divided up into our book groups.  Valerie and I had a wonderful time while we decided which story we would read for the next book talk.  Valerie gave me an brief idea about what some of the stories that she had read were about.  I didn't have much to contribute thsi day but I will.  I did read the first sentence to one of our stories and Valerie and I had a interesting talk about purses and having everything in them.  With this in mind we are going to both read or re-read the story "Thank You M'am" so that we can have at least one story in common to discuss.

Valerie and I finally had some time to talk about "Thank You M'am" from our selected book.  We talked about how I didn't think the story was going to go where it did and what I expected to happen.  In the story a young man tries to snatch a woman's purse but the strap breaks and he doesn't get away.  The woman than brings him to her home.  I never thought someone would bring a stranger and a thief into their home but the story took place in a different time.  People were different and the relationships between people were different.  We both chose a story that we read and the other has not yet so we had a list of stories to read for our next talk.
